Multiple Myeloma Symptoms can be confused with other problems such as osteoporosis, arthritis or even chronic back pain. It is an insidious form of cancer, which, because of the way that the plasma cells in the bone marrow are involved, the cancer can spread easily throughout the body. The pain associated with multiple myeloma is extreme and requires very strong pain relief. Anemia and fatigue are also common since the production of blood cells is disrupted and the reduced production of platelets results in excessive bleeding.
Diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma involves detection of abnormal proteins in the blood and urine. X-rays can also show up areas of damage to the bone in various parts of the skeleton. Bone marrow biopsies can detect the change in numbers of plasma cells.

The Woman Walking
I have been a member of SparkPeople for two years now. I’ve lost 50 lbs and totally changed my lifestyle, even though the stress of finishing my undergraduate thesis put 10 lbs back on that I’m now working off. One of the main ways that I have kept fit is walking. Even in the highest heat (it can be about 114 degrees where I live) or the frostiest cold (about -15 degrees where I went to school) I made an effort to walk. Especially to make sure that even if I couldn’t get to the gym or was too exhausted from an all-nighter to run, I could get SOME exercise.
Recently in my neighborhood I’ve seen a few women all of whom fit a similar description: they are overweight, some about as heavy as I was, some a little heavier, some a little lighter, wearing exercise clothes and they are walking on the same path that I walk everyday. As I walk by in my tank top and my giant 1940s-style sunhat, they usually avoid my eyes and my friendly smile. One woman in particular I’ve seen on a number of different occasions. Every time I see her, I feel so wonderful. I want to say to her “I was once like you. I walked this path and used SparkPeople and I lost all this weight. And in a year or two years if you keep it up, you will get to a healthy, trim weight like me. In a year or two, you’re going to be the one smiling at another woman walking.”
Although I want to shout encouraging words to the woman walking, I know I shouldn’t. I would have been mortified if someone had noticed I was overweight enough to bother to talk to me. However, I just wanted to say that if, in any city or wherever you are and you are that woman walking, there is someone rooting for you! I remember that woman walking once used to be me.
Cancer has become the scourge of western civilization over the last few decades as other previously common, serious diseases have been brought under control.
Despite huge amounts of money being spent on cancer research, rates of almost all of the different types of cancer have been increasing at a rapid rate.
Although there has been some success with traditional cancer treatments such as radical surgery, chemotherapy and radiology, in most cases these have led to a lengthening of the survival time for cancer sufferers – rather than a cure for the cancer. Unfortunately they also come with a wide range of incapacitating side effects – which often make the patient feel worse rather than better.
It would be great if, rather than having to treat existing cancers, they could be prevented in the first place. Eating natural, whole foods, keeping fit and avoiding contact with toxic chemicals and harmful pollutants would take us a long way towards achieving a reduction in the incidence of cancer.

It affects many people and is the result of a severe and permanent allergy to gluten – a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats.
The lining of the intestine actually breaks down when in contact with gluten – even in small amounts.
Some people with Celiac Disease do not show as severe symptoms as others – and may even think that they just have a mild gluten intolerance. However since actual physical damage can be done to the villi in the intestinal lining, it is best to be tested by your doctor. There are two forms of test – a blood test and a physical examination via a gastroscopy/ colonoscopy to examine the intestinal wall.
The Celiac Gluten Free Diet site provides heaps of information about Celiac Disease, its causes and treatments. Many varied recipes are provided to enable the compilation of extremely tasty & healthy gluten free diets – without breaking the bank.

I am really excited to be taking a course in Natural Health from Don Tolman’s Tolman Academy.
Don Tolman is a marvel, with an astonishing knowledge and understanding of the Natural Health Secrets of the Ancients.
With the way that modern medicine is under the control of the multi-billion dollar Pharmaceutical Industry it is little wonder that the health of people in Western Society is actually deteriorating over time. With all the medical research and scientific breakthroughs one would expect our overall health to be improving. However it is actually doing the opposite. We are experiencing record numbers of new diabetics, increased rates of cancer and heart disease along with the obesity epidemic. The Pharmaceutical Industry produces drugs to treat symptoms – that way noone gets cured of the cause of the symptoms, creating customers for life.
Don Tolman has studied the medicines and procedures of the Ancient civilizations and found that they are not only effective in treating symptoms but also the cause of the original problem. The natural remedies, based mainly on eating whole, natural foods and drinking pure water – are still as effective today.
By studying Don’s course I hope to gain a greater insight into these ancient practices so that I can apply them and pass on the education to others.
Keep your eyes and ears out for future releases of information about what I have found.
Are you having trouble getting motivated to put in a few sessions of exercise each week to enable you either to obtain or maintain fitness?
Can’t summon the enthusiasm to go for a brisk 30 – 40 minute walk 3 times a week, or to head to the gym for regular exercise sessions?
Then why not try a regular round of golf? Ditch the golf cart and walk – pulling your golf clubs around behind you!
18 holes of golf involves walking a minimum of 5 – 6 km (3 – 4 miles) (if you always hit straight down the middle of the fairway). Swinging the golf club aids flexibility as well.
Anything that will get you off your butt and moving around is a good thing. The more regular the games of golf and the brisker you walk, the better.
If you are too ashamed to smile in public because you have yellow, stained or discolored teeth – don’t despair, there is hope!
In the past the only way to fix your smile would have been to head off to your dentist and undergo expensive and involved teeth whitening treatments. Fortunately there are now a number of excellent teeth whitening treatments that are inexpensive, effective and able to be performed at home.
These treatments usually involve the bleaching of tooth enamel and removal of unsightly stains. Some of the teeth whitening treatments use gels, others use pens or a variety of different application methods. Most are harmless and easy to apply yourself.
It can be difficult to choose what is best for your particular situation. A number of the companies which produce the teeth whitening systems provide Free Trials of their products. This makes it much easier to ensure that you get a product that you know will work for you – before you part with your hard-earned cash.
The website Bright Teeth Whitening (http://brightteethwhitening.com) provides informative reviews of a number of the Teeth Whitening Treatments as well as easy access to the range of free trial offers available.
If you would like beautiful, bright, white teeth that would make you proud and happy to smile in public at every opportunity – then check out Bright Teeth Whitening now.
